I look at how much waste have I created. I do love to dye my hair. I changed it Once a month. It's made me think of what about the wastewater. It's reuseable? How big footprint is?

I have ideas of using the colour of jelly soap which I use it to wash my hand every single day. I use to think of using a fabric dye but I don't want to create more pollution for the world. I come up with the idea of using nature to create a colour. Experiment how fabric react the nature.

As far as I can see my biggest issues, the lack of research. I initially think it would be a great idea if I add my country based culture into the project too. The different background from around the world makes it culture unique.

After a mood board of Laos. I started to feel like it a good opportunity for me to show my peers about my culture. The ways how we live. To be honest my culture and another south-east Asia. It controversial thing at the moment. It's quite common to say because we kind of influence each other in our culture. I think it would be good for me to start a topic and interact with people from south-east Asia too. A good vibe only. Eg. My country have a sticky rice with mango and another friend also share we have it too but with something else.

The ideas of this project start with my comfort zone. what is comfort me? I come up with the Ideas of Places, what you see and what you can hear.
Places(home); everybody needs places to return which is home. I research my home country, which is Laos, demonstrate how people live, how we dress, how simple we live our lives.
What you hear(music); My fave artist has to give their fans the best through their song. Some of their music save someone life.
What you see(cover); I think about what if I have a chance to design for my fave artist on their album cover, use the lyrics of the song to create the cover. My project would be about me designing the album cover for my favourites artist based on where my home is.

The 1975 is one of my favourite band from the UK. The song called" I always wanna die sometime'' makes me thinking in a different perspective of people who committed suicide. I used to think it better to let them go. but the Lyrics on
But you're sat on a train again
Your memories are sceneries
For things, you said but never really meant
You build it too high to say goodbye
Because you're not the same as them
But your death, it won't happen to you
It happens to your family and your friends, I pretend
maybe, we set up our guard too high, even yourself could jump out of it. Every time I listen to this song It's a reminder to myself. Do not forget to love yourself, be kind, be able to forgive your mistake.

My Manifesto from Damien Poulain Project
Fashion trend has a rapid change recently. It is noticeable through the appearance of new clothes in the market these days, which leads to the dramatic increase in clothing productions. The term “fast fashion” then been used to describe this situation, where the retailers or brands trying to keep customer attention by always updating their products to match the trend. The result of this trend is responsible for the overproduction of some clothing design, while the sudden growth of the trend also makes the delayed-release products became unsold. The mass production continuously creates a huge amount of waste that finally end up in landfills every year. This new issue, unsurprisingly, exaggerates the ongoing problem of global warming in the world.
Gucci Tennis shoes,1984
Design by Gucci
Missoni X Converse
Manufactured by Converse
In real terms Gucci's 1984 Tennis shoes barely stood out from other trainers. They were based on Classic Tennis shoes from the late 1970s and made no use of new Materials. What they did have was a Gucci logo, Handed stitched genuine Italian leather and high price tag.
(I do not own any content in Magenta)
The way how they made it with no new material. It's a good way of reducing pollution. which is the way I trying to use the scraps from my previous project to create a new pieces.

I went to the museum of brands. Where they display the package design of our everyday use fro the victorian to the twenty century. The ticket for the museum is 7 pound for a student and They do not allow us to take any photographs inside. So I took a photo of a Candy and Coffee packaging outside where they allow the photo to be taken.
additional research
Laos culture
The biggest religious is my country Laos is Buddhist. Which we had lots of temples and buddha statue. I demonstrated a pattern of the temple, a different tribe costume, and a shape of architecture.
Landmark
Weaving
We are quite famous for the weaving and pattern. It also have a market place for a collector of weaving. It's not a mass production because each piece could take up to 6-12months. Some complicated piece even took longer than that. The yarn sometimes made from gold which is quite famous among the elite class in the country. I would want to create a weave for my project too but not with the fine yarn like they made it. I think the stitch and knit workshop room would be a great ideas for my piece to start with.

The 1975
Jon Emmony
I had a chance to go to The1975 last year. The sound and screen production is breathtaking. I look up online and I found Jon Emmony a digital artist work for The 1975, also for Balenciaga. The way he works is quite new and futuristic design. I would love to explore Photoshop in this project. Its won't take that long time because I do have a Photoshop basic. This way of making suits me the most at this time because I couldn't access any workshop in the uni during this circumstance.
